Tables
When you should use a table
Tables should be used sparingly, when it is the only effective way to display the content.
Tables should only be used to present data.
Do not use tables for cosmetic changes to layout, for example to present a list because you think it looks better that way.
Consider the alternatives
A table may not always be the best way to present your content.
A simple table can often be replaced with a:
- series of bulleted lists with headings and subheadings
- single bulleted list, using commas to separate the information
How to add a table
Tables can be included on a page using the toolbar in the WYSIWYG editor.
You will need to add a table header and caption (table title) to make sure the table is accessible.
Example
Column 1 header | Column 2 header |
---|---|
Row 1 header | normal text |
Row 2 header | normal text |
