Buttons
When you should use a start button
Buttons should be used when you need a user to take an action, such as linking straight into a form or online service that allows the user to complete their task. This applies to both internal and external online forms and services.
Button text
The button text should be short, one word if possible, and be a call to action (verb).
Here are some options you can use:
- Register
- Start application
- Book an appointment
- Subscribe
- Pay
- Report it
- Renew
Example
How to add a start button
Start buttons are created using the toolbar in the WYSIWYG editor. Select the text you want to be a button, insert a link to where you want the button to go, then choose the start button option in the Styles dropdown.
For more information on how to add this component, see the LGD training guide.
